Study with Don Bailey

I have enjoyed an international career as performer, recording artist, teacher, adjudicator, festival planner, and music publisher. I have taught symphony and Broadway players, celebrities, All-State high school students, university music majors, professional flutists, doublers, and flute professors.


My students have won positions in the Greater Dallas and Austin Youth Orchestras, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall, TMEA and Louisiana’s State and Region orchestras and bands, the John Phillip Sousa National Honor Band, and several have been accepted into leading music schools, including Oberlin, Cincinnati College Conservatory, Eastman, New England Conservatory, Boston University, Manhattan School of Music, DePaul, Carnegie Mellon, Colorado University, UT Austin, Univ. of North Texas, Texas Tech, Northwestern among others.

 

My students have attended summer sessions at Interlochen’s Advanced Flute Intensive and Summer Wind Ensemble Program, Carnegie Mellon’s The Consummate Flutist with Jeanne Baxtresser and Alberto Almarza, Peabody’s International Flute Master Classes with Marina Piccinini, Quebec’s Orford Music Academy with Lorna McGhee and Robert Langevin, Boston’s Tanglewood Institute, Round Top Festival Institute, and Pennsylvania’s SummerTrios, among others. Several former students have performed and/or presented at National Flute Association Conventions.
