Study with Don Bailey
I have enjoyed an international career as performer, teacher, adjudicator, festival planner, music publisher, and recording artist. I have taught symphony and Broadway players, NY celebrities, All-State high school students, university music majors, professional flutists, doublers, and flute professors.
My students have won positions in the Greater Dallas and Austin Youth Orchestras, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, TMEA and Louisiana’s State and Region orchestras and bands, the John Phillip Sousa National Honor Band, and several have been accepted into leading music schools, including Oberlin, Cincinnati College Conservatory, Eastman, New England Conservatory, Boston University, Manhattan School of Music, DePaul, Carnegie Mellon, Colorado University, UT Austin, Univ. of North Texas, among others.
Some have attended summer sessions at Interlochen’s Advanced Flute Intensive and Summer Wind Ensemble Program, Carnegie Mellon’s The Consummate Flutist with Jeanne Baxtresser, Peabody’s International Flute Master Classes with Marina Piccinini, Quebec’s Orford Music Academy with Lorna McGhee and Robert Langevin, Boston’s Tanglewood Institute, and Pennsylvania’s SummerTrios with Karen Bogardus, among others.
If you are serious about honing your flute skills and consider yourself a motivated self-starter with goals of WINNING, let me bring out the best in you!
I have limited availability for single sessions or regular study – in person and via Zoom.
